Welcome to the Aged Care Complaints Commissioner
Welcome to the launch of our new website and organisation. As you may be aware aged care complaints handling is changing.
From today, 1 January 2016, as the Aged Care Complaints Commissioner I will be responsible for resolving concerns about aged care services funded by the Australian Government, including services provided in the home. My team and I will also have a role in educating people and aged care service providers about the best way to address complaints and ensuring that the lessons from complaints improve care.
Please take some time to look through the information on our website that reflect these changes and our new identity. We encourage people providing services, including advocacy services, to order our resources. Our resources help people receiving aged care, their families, friends and representatives to understand their options to provide feedback, raise a concern or lodge a complaint within the aged care service or with us.
From our website you can:
- Order resources, including resources available in seventeen community languages and six Indigenous languages and resources for aged care staff about better practice complaints handling
- Learn more about what we do, our vision, objectives and values
- Sign up to our email subscription service to receive news and updates.
I am looking forward to working with you, aged care staff and our aged care community to resolve complaints and ensure people receiving aged care are well cared for and protected.
